Events and Programs
The Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship (CNVE) provides a wealth of opportunities for our students to become involved outside of the classroom. These opportunities would not be possible without the participation and support of our alumni and community members.
Ideas Challenge
Part of the mission of the CNVE is to foster an entrepreneurial mindset at Texas A&M. The Ideas Challenge does just that. It helps students think in an entrepreneurial way and develop the competencies needed to identify and successfully implement new business ideas throughout their careers.
This year’s Ideas Challenge will be held on May 2, 2012. Judges for the event will come to College Station for the day to review student’s ideas and offer suggestions, listen to student presentations and rate the idea, and network with other judges as well as student participants.

MBA Venture Challenge
The Venture Challenge (formerly known as the Tech Transfer Challenge) is an integral part of the Mays Full-Time MBA Program that asks teams of MBA students to assess the commercial viability of an existing firm, which is based upon research at Texas A&M. Each firm has solid intellectual property and a CEO moving the firm forward. MBA students will deliver a 2 minute elevator pitch as well as a 15 minute “venture pitch” presentation to judges from the business and academic community.
The next MBA Venture Challenge will be held in February 2012. Judges for the event will come to College Station that day to listen to MBA group presentations and participate in Q&A sessions after each presentation. The event offers an opportunity to network with fellow judges and first-year MBA students as well.
