2011 scholarship recipients

Scholarships

The Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship (CNVE) in the Department of Management is sponsoring a $5,000 per year scholarship through The Frank J. and Jean Raymond Foundation, Inc. This scholarship is for the benefit of Texas A&M University undergraduate students affiliated with Mays Business School. This includes only those students seeking the BBA (accounting, business honors, finance, information and operations management, management and marketing) or BS (agribusiness) degree at Mays.

To be considered for this scholarship, students must have expressed or demonstrated an interest in entrepreneurship and/or participated in the entrepreneurship programs at Mays and/or have involvement in such programs as the Ideas Challenge, certificate program, entrepreneurship classes and other activities offered by CNVE. Additionally, Mays students who are currently operating their own entrepreneurial ventures, or plan to begin one, should also apply.

The initial applicant pool will come from those who hold junior standing by the start of the fall semester. Applications will be taken each spring and the scholarships will be awarded toward the end of that spring semester or early that summer. Two recipients each year will be selected and this scholarship is renewable for a second year pending satisfactory review by the granting foundation. Representative(s) of the granting foundation will be involved in the review of applications.

The 2012 scholarship application deadline is quickly approaching.

The application form is available for the 2012 scholarhsip and is due on April 15, 2012 to Dr. Richard Lester in Wehner 430E.
